Watson practices at Crooked Stick

CARMEL, Ind. — Tom Watson practiced Wednesday at the U.S. Senior Open, a day after an illness kept him from getting out on the Crooked Stick course in Indiana.

Watson says he felt sick after eating Chinese food toward the end of his recent stay in Britain.

The 59-year-old is playing in his third major tournament in three weeks, which included his remarkable runner-up finish at the British Open two weeks ago. The first round begins Thursday.

Others in the 156-player field including defending champion Eduardo Romero, three-time U.S. Open champ Hale Irwin, two-time Masters winners Ben Crenshaw and Bernhard Langer, two-time British Open winner Greg Norman and two-time PGA champ Dave Stockton.
