Sabres come to terms with free-agent McCormick

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres have reached a deal with free-agent center iceman Cody McCormick.

The Sabres announced Saturday they have agreed to terms for a one-year deal.

McCormick comes to the Sabres as an unrestricted free agent who spent last season with the Colorado Avalanche.

The 26-year-old McCormick collected 12 points on a goal and 11 assists with the Avalanche last year. He also racked up 92 penalty minutes in 55 regular season games.

McCormick has played in 190 regular season games with the Avalanche. He has scored 30 points and posted 250 penalty minutes.

He was drafted by Colorado in the fifth round of the 2001 National Hockey League entry draft.
