MUGELLO/HAMBURG - Michael Schumacher seemingly did not infringe Formula One’s ban on in-season testing when the seven-time world champion drove practice laps Friday at Mugello in Ferrari’s 2007 car.

The Bild newspaper reported Saturday that there were concerns about the slicks used on the F2007 by Schumacher. The 40-year stated after the test day involving 67 laps at Ferrari’s circuit that the slicks were those used in the GP2 Series as teams are banned from testing with tyres in use for the 2009 F1 season.

A spokesperson for the FIA would merely confirm that motorsport’s ruling body was checking the details of the test.
