CHANDIGARH - A local court Wednesday ordered the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) to attach its bank account for non-payment of dues to a supplier of generator sets.

Judge Amit Sharma had directed the attachment of bank account of the PCA with the State Bank of Patiala in Mohali.

According to the court officials, complainant Arora had supplied two generator sets, worth Rs. 1.5 million, for the PCA Stadium in 1996. But the PCA paid just Rs.600,000.

“We had filed a case against the PCA in 1997. The court gave its verdict in our favour in 2006. It directed the PCA to pay us the balance amount with due interest. However, the PCA challenged this order which was also turned down by the court,” Arora told IANS.

The next hearing is slated for Oct 29.

“Since the matter is sub-judice we cannot comment anything without consulting our lawyers. Very soon we would put our side before the court through our lawyer,” said G.S. Walia, joint secretary of PCA.
