CENTURION - Team India ran out of luck, as Pakistan lost to Australia by two wickets in the crucial match on Wednesday at the Centurion despite a spectacular endeavour till last ball of the final over of the match.

With Pakistan’s loss, India moved out of the ongoing Champions’ Trophy as to qualify for the semi-final India needed to beat West Indies with a huge margin on Wednesday in Johannesburg and the Pakistan should beat Australia on the same day in a separate match here.

Australia, in a match they were required to win to qualify for the Champions Trophy semi-finals, were cruising at 140 for 2 at one stage, after restricting Pakistan to a paltry 205.

However, the Aussies appeared crumbling like a pack of cards after Ricky Ponting’s dismissal and the team lost six wickets within 40 runs.

However, Brett Lee kept his cool during the final overs, as the asking rate rose and resources grew thin, and secured a thrilling two-wicket victory off the final ball.

Australia will now face England in the semi-final in Centurion, while Pakistan will take on New Zealand in Johannesburg. (ANI)
