Shoaib seeks help from Flintoff’s surgeon

LONDON - Controversial Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has sought the service of England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff’s surgeon for his knee injury problems.
“The appointment is confirmed and Dr. Andrew Williams will be seeing his patient (Shoaib Akhtar) on Tuesday at 4.30 pm at the Wellington Hospital,” the Nation quoted sources at the London Hospital, as saying.
Dr Williams is the same surgeon who operated upon English all rounder Andrew Flintoff very recently.
Shoaib’s Lahore-based doctor friend Dr Tauseef Razzak suggested Williams’ name.
“Shoaib has been going to UK to seek doctor’s opinion and only if required, will opt for the surgery. Shoib is visiting the doctor alone on 6th October and based on the doctor’s findings, Akhtar would be under the scalpel,” Dr Tauseef Razzak said.
Shoaib will be out of competitive cricket for more than a month if he undergoes knee surgery in England.
Recently, the PCB had refused to foot the bill for the bowler’s treatment. (ANI)
