NAGPUR - Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained non-committal on former skipper Sourav Ganguly’s suggestion that he must bat higher up in the order, preferably at the number three slot.

Dhoni said this while interacting with the media persons after strenuous work-out at the nets here on Tuesday.

He said that he floats himself in the batting order depending on the situation in the match and it would be difficult to place himself up in the batting order.

“It is a very difficult choice to make because if you see our batting order, Sehwag and Sachin open the innings, with Gautam Gambhir at number three and Yuvraj Singh at number four. The next slot available is number five, and depending on the strength of individual players, who can have a bigger impact on the game, accordingly we select individuals to bat at that particular slot,” he added.

India and Australia will clash in the second one day international (ODI) match here today.

The other ties in the 7-match ODI series will be played in New Delhi (October 31), Mohali (November 2), Hyderabad (November 5), Guwahati (November 8) and Mumbai (November 11). (ANI)
