CHANDIGARH - Tight security arrangements were in place for India and Australia cricket teams which arrived here Sunday evening.
India and Australia will Monday play the fourth match of the seven-match series at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium in Mohali, around 10 kilometers from here. India lead the series 2-1.
India opener Gautam Gambhir, who was injured in the Delhi one-day and is doubtful starter Monday, was not there with the Indian squad.
Chandigarh police have made foolproof security arrangements to ensure the safety of players.
We have deployed our officials both inside and outside the Taj hotel. Police gypsies will escort the team buses to the stadium and we have also stationed sufficient force on their route, H.S. Doon, superintendent of police (security), Chandigarh, told IANS.
Sushil Kapoor, spokesperson of PCA told IANS: It is unlikely that teams will go for practice today.
