Rodney Green scores 21 points in La Salle’s 84-70 win over Davidson in Carolina Classic

La Salle defeats Davidson 84-70
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Rodney Green scored 21 points and La Salle defeated Davidson 84-70 on Friday night.
Green, who also had 10 rebounds and four assists, led five players in double figures for the Explorers (2-1).
Yves Mekongo Mbala scored 17 points, Aaric Murray 14, Kimmani Barrett 13 and Ruben Guillandeax had 11 points for La Salle.
The Wildcats cut the lead to 10 midway through the second half, but La Salle pulled away to as many as 19 points in the Carolina Classic.
The Explorers shot 59.4 percent from the field in the first half, and scored 18 of their points on inside baskets en route to a 46-30 lead at halftime.
Davidson (0-3) was led by Bryan Barr with 19 points.
La Salle will play Tulane at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday and Davidson will face Penn State at 10 a.m.
