Rangers beat Panthers 2-1 in shootout
SUNRISE, Fla. — P.A. Parenteau scored in a shootout, and Henrik Lundqvist stopped all three Florida shooters to give the New York Rangers a 2-1 victory over the Panthers on Wednesday night.
Lundqvist made 25 saves in regulation and overtime, then stopped Nathan Horton, Steven Reinprecht and Stephen Weiss in the tiebreaker.
Marian Gaborik scored a power-play goal in the second period for New York, his NHL-leading 19th goal of the season.
Dominic Moore tied it in the third period for the Panthers, who haven’t lost in regulation in eight games. Panthers goalie Tomas Vokoun, who made 42 saves Monday night in a 3-2 overtime loss to Pittsburgh, stopped 27 shots.
