No. 20 Oklahoma holds off South Carolina, 75-67

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Nyeshia Stevenson scored 16 points and No. 20 Oklahoma used a second-half surge to hold off South Carolina 75-67 on Thursday in the Paradise Jam.

The Sooners (3-1) built a 20-point lead midway through the first half before South Carolina rallied to within 45-43 with 14:07 left in the game. Oklahoma countered with a 9-0 run to restore a 11-point advantage.

South Carolina (2-2) wasn’t finished, closing to 67-64 with 4:50 left, but could get no closer.

Whitney Hand added 15 points, Danielle Robinson 14, and Amanda Thompson had 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Oklahoma, which will play No. 23 San Diego State on Friday.
