Hobart (Tasmania, Australia), - Fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus has been ruled out of the second Australia-West Indies Test to be played at the Adelaide Oval from Friday due to a knee injury.
Hilfenhaus was man of the match in Australia’s innings defeat of the tourists in the first Test at the Gabba, but a continuing knee problem has forced a rest with Victoria paceman Clint McKay called up in his place, reports Fox Sports.
“The injury to Ben Hilfenhaus is very disappointing following his outstanding Ashes and his man-of-the-match performance in Brisbane, but hopefully with treatment he will be fit to be considered for selection for the third Test,” said chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch.
“Clint impressed all with his performances in India with the one-day squad and with his bowling for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield.
“We also feel his style of bowling will be well-suited to the conditions in Adelaide should he be selected in the starting 11.”
McKay will vie with Gabba 12th man Doug Bollinger for the final spot in the Australia side to play at Adelaide Oval from Friday.(ANI)
