Browns’ Pool out with concussion
BEREA, Ohio — Browns starting safety Brodney Pool’s season could be over and his career is in jeopardy after sustaining another concussion in Sunday’s loss to Cincinnati.
Pool, a five-year veteran, sustained at least his fourth known concussion in the third quarter against the Bengals. Coach Eric Mangini said Pool’s status “is not looking very positive.”
Mangini said Pool will miss this week’s game against San Diego, and it’s possible that the 25-year-old will not play again this season.
Mangini said no decisions have been made about Pool’s long-term future.
Pool has started 10 games this season. The Browns selected him in the second round of the 2005 draft out of Oklahoma.
