Gayle needles Oz pace bowler Bollinger
By ANIFriday, December 4, 2009
ADELAIDE - West Indies skipper Chris Gayle has needled new Australian quick Doug Bollinger by provocatively claiming he doesn’t even know who he is.
Sparking a potentially explosive new-ball confrontation in the second Test starting in Adelaide today, Gayle also made the amazing confession he had not even bothered to watch a video of Bollinger’s bowling.
The West Indian cool cat clearly isn’t having sleepless nights at the prospect of facing left-armer Bollinger, the one-time bald eagle set to take the new ball in his second Test.
“Two left-armers - we’ll see how well we can go about it,” Gayle chirped when asked about facing Bollinger and Mitchell Johnson.
“What’s the other guy’s name? Bollinger? Bollinger?
“I haven’t seen much of him to be honest with you. It will be the first time going up against him,” The courier Mail quoted Gayle, as saying.
Gayle’s fighting words are sure to antagonise Bollinger, who has vowed to be “loud and obnoxious” and bowl at the West Indies’ throats. (ANI)
