Cape Town- The 2010 World Cup draw is scheduled to be at Cape Town, in the Convention Center in South Africa, and will begin at 7p.m., according to South African time. South Africa is a first time host of the World Cup. The names of the 32 teams that have qualified to participate in the World Cup will be put in four pots, with eight teams each. The draw will decide the groups each team will fall in and their opponents.

The draw has some initial rules. The host country, South Africa in this case, will automatically be positioned as the A1 team. The other teams will be divided in the groups B to H. Geographical location plays a significant part in the allotment of the groups.

The only dampener in the festivities of the World Cup 2010 draw was the bomb scare. The threat was completely unprecedented, and resulted in immediate sealing off of the venue. Police teams, complete with the bomb detection squad and sniffer dogs, arrived at the place. The center was reopened when it was discovered that the threat was a hoax.

The 2010 World Cup draw is going to be a great moment for everyone present. As the chief executive of South Africa’s World Cup organizing committee, Danny Jordan mentioned, the moment of the draw is going to actually bring home the truth that South Africa is finally hosting the World Cup tournament, a dream for many years. Many international celebrities like Charlize Theron, David Beckham, Matthew Booth and Makhaya Ntini are going to be present at the World Cup draw 2010.
