Bruszewski scores 18, Notre Dame beats IPFW 96-60
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Becca Bruszewski had 18 points and five assists and Lindsay Schrader added 14 points and eight rebounds, leading No. 3 Notre Dame to a 96-60 victory over IPFW on Tuesday night.
The Fighting Irish (8-0), playing with their highest ranking in five seasons, are off to their best start since going 23-0 and winning the national championship in 2000-01. The Irish dominated inside, outscoring the Mastodons (2-5) 62-12 in the paint and outrebounding them 39-27.
Notre Dame started slowly, finished the first half on an 8-2 spurt, then began the second half on a 13-4 run to take control. A fastbreak basket by Ashley Barlow, who had 12 points, midway through the second half capped an 11-0 run that gave the Irish a 70-39 lead.
Anne Boese had a career-high 24 points for the Mastodons on 6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range.
