Long Beach, California, (GaeaTimes.com)- Motorsports competitor Travis Pastrana created history on Thursday night as he broke the world record of the longest jump in rally car at the ‘Red Bull New Year No Limits’ event. The event was attended by thousands of spectators who enthusiastically cheered as Travis Pastrana jumped off the Pine Street Pier and landed on a floating barge that was stationed at the harbor.

The much acclaimed stunt performer shattered the Guinness World Record of ‘longest jump in a rally car’ as his jump unofficially was measured to be 274 feet. Travis Pastrana achieved the world record feat just a few minutes after the new year was welcomed with the entire event adding on to the new year celebrations of the large number of people who had gathered to witness the spectacular event.

Travis Pastrana almost perfectly landed his Subaru rally car which skidded sideways as it was about to land and clashed against the wall of the barge. However, the off-road star came out of the car uninjured and as the crowd cheered loudly went ahead to deliver a back-flip.

Meanwhile, the much anticipated event was also aired live on ESPN network, which provided millions of viewers across the nation the opportunity to witness the entire event as it unfolded.
