Galiardi’s late goal powers Avs to 3-2 win
COLUMBUS, Ohio — T.J. Galiardi crashed the net and scored on a rebound with just under a minute left to give the Colorado Avalanche a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.
Colorado’s Milan Hejduk carried the puck into the offensive zone and fired the puck at goalie Steve Mason. Mason stopped the puck but it bounced to the left circle where Galiardi, who was trailing the play, collected it and beat Mason with 57.8 seconds left.
Kyle Cumiskey and Chris Stewart also scored for the Avalanche, who have won nine of 13 overall and five of their last six road games.
Kristian Huselius and Derick Brassard had goals for Columbus, which hasn’t scored more than two goals in its last 10 games and has lost 20 of its last 23 (3-13-7) since a 12-6-2 start.
