BANGALORE - To coincide with the launch of a unique “adventure park” here, the Getiton Funventure will conduct dirt track supercross and autocross competitions for two and four-wheelers, respectively, over the weekend at their facility on the outskirts of the city.

Srikarunya, a well-known national rally participant who heads the Getiton Funventure, told a media conference here Thursday the venue is located on a 30-acre plot near the famous Bennarghatta National Park, and over a period of time, will be developed into a facility offering various forms of motor sport and other recreational activities.

“The unique venture, first of its kind in India, is designed to fulfill the growing needs of an increasing number of motor sport enthusiasts besides offering a multi-dimensional facility in related fields of activity,” he said.

The “adventure park” offers separate 1.4 km long go-karting and rally track and a mountain bike trail, besides online and offline games.

The project also envisages 20 fully-furnished log cabins, an artists village and well-appointed restaurants, Srikarunya said.

“We hope to conduct year-round activities that include motor sport competitions besides corporate events. Outside of the regular competitions, the adventure park will offer a hire-and-drive facility for serious enthusiasts to train and practice their driving and riding skills while providing a rare opportunity for the daring to experience the thrills of high-speed Rallying, said Srikarunya.

For this, there are two fully-equipped state-of-the-art rally cars and five bikes that customers can hire on a time-bound basis. Over a period of time, we hope to increase the number of vehicles. It is our endeavour to provide a safe and controlled environment for motor sport enthusiasts, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Praneeth Perumal, FMSCI rally commission chairman, said: Infrastructure which promotes motor sports is missing in the country and this facility, the only one of its kind, fills that gap. Motor sports enthusiasts can now have a single point where they can do everything connected to the sport.”

Deepak Paul Chinnappa, who will be participating in four events, said that the facility was amazing. All the team members can have practice, tuning and everything at one stop without any hassles. We dont have this kind of facility anywhere in the country.”
