Chinese pairs skaters take lead at Four Continents

JEONJU, South Korea — World pairs silver medalists Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao of China are in the lead after the short program at the Four Continents figure skating competition.

Americans Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker are in second place after Wednesday’s competition in the ancient city of Jeonju, south of Seoul.

The skating continues Wednesday with the ladies’ short program. Japan’s Mao Asada is the favorite for gold but will face a challenge from compatriot Akiko Suzuki.

The ISU Four Continents is the last international skating event before the Vancouver Olympics.
