Pro Bowl looks like a Miami alumni party

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The Pro Bowl has turned into a Miami alumni meeting.

There’s now nine former Hurricanes set to be on the field for the NFL’s All-Star game on Sunday, and that doesn’t even include New Orleans’ Jonathan Vilma and Indianapolis’ Reggie Wayne — two Pro Bowl selections who won’t play this weekend because their teams will meet a week later in the Super Bowl.

No school will be better represented at the Pro Bowl, a stat not lost on Vince Wilfork, Frank Gore and the other ‘Canes who returned to South Florida this week. The list of Miami players picked for the game grew to 11 Friday afternoon, when the Carolina Panthers said linebacker Jon Beason was summoned to be an injury replacement.
