VANCOUVER, CANADA (GaeaTimes.com)- Allison Baver missed out the gold, and the silver and the bronze for that matter, in the 1500 meter short track speedskating in the Winter Olympics that is being held in Vancouver. It was the semifinals heat in the short track speedskating event at the Winter Olympics, and Allison Baver finished the race in 2 minutes and 22.053 seconds. At the end of the race, she stood fifth, falling behind her one time lover and present friend Apolo Anton Ohno, who stood third at the end of the race. At the end of the race, Allison Baver spoke to the press, blaming none but herself for having missed out all of the medals.

Allison Baver explained later on, after the race was over, that failing to go make it to the finals was due to a “tactical error” that she had made. Clarifying her mistake, she said that she had been instructed by her coach to hold on to some of her speed for the end of the race. However, while still in the middle of the track, she had realized that she should be putting in more, but had chosen to act in accordance to the instructions of her coach instead.

Allison Baver explained her mistake to be entirely her fault, saying that in a sport such as hers, it is necessary to put in one’s best at the very, and every, moment of the race, something she admits she had failed to do. In fact, she has consistently been underperforming in the Winter Olympics this year. In the preliminary heat of the event too, Allison Baver had not managed it beyond the fourth place.
