Vancouver, British Columbia (GaeaTimes.com) – The United States could not reach another gold medal as their women’s hockey team lost to Canada 2-0. This made Canadian’s third consecutive Olympic gold winner and American’s won only at Nagano in Japan.

Marie Philip Poulin scored both the goals that Canada scored. The first goal was a wrist shot over the U.S. goaltender Jessie Vetter’s glove at 13:55. The next goal was a faceoff scramble at 16:50 in the first period. Canada’s Goaltender Shannon Szabados was the best player with 28 saves. Canada finished with 29-28 edge in shots but truth be told, Americans had the better of the chances.

After the defeat of U.S. tonight, it seems that it will have a major clothing changes for the Obama spokesperson Robert Gibbs. The White House press secretary will have to wear a Team Canada jersey to his next news gaggle as he lost a bet with counterpart Dimitri Soudas, the spokesman for Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. If U.S. had won, Soudas would have to wear a Team USA jersey during his next briefing on March 3 when the Parliament comes back to session.

Let’s see if the game reverses on the Men’s Olympic hockey tournament where the American and Canadians teams are still going. The men’s ice hockey event semi finals will take place tomorrow. The four teams playing are USA vs Finland, Canada Vs Slovakia. It would be very interesting if Canada beats Slovakia and USA beats Finland. Who would be your favorite for the USA Vs Canada match?
