Manchester United players are born winners: Beckham

MILAN - AC Milan midfielder David Beckham claims that his former club Manchester United’s players are born winners, and they have the tendency to keep pushing until the final whistle.

Beckham also warned his teammates that United will give tough competition to Milan on Wednesday.

“It doesn’t matter whether there is half the game left or two minutes left, United players are born and brought up to believe they can win even with a minute left. They have that mentality, which makes it extremely hard for anyone to beat them,” The Mirror quoted Beckham, as saying.

“Nobody comes to Old Trafford and gets given gifts. We’re going to have to work hard and play well if we’re to have a chance,” he added.

Beckham further refused to accept that the tie is dead, and claims Milan will overturn the 3-2 deficit from the first leg of their last-16 clash.

“It’s not over. The second goal helps us out. We know how difficult it is going to be. If we had put away the chances we had it in the first game it would be a different tie now. But we didn’t and you have to put your chances away, especially against a side like United,” Beckham said.

“United have quality all the way through the side and it’s going to be hard to stop them. But, as I said, our second goal gives us a chance,” he added. (ANI)
