Minnesota-Duluth beats Minnesota 3-2 in NCAA semi
MINNEAPOLIS — Emmanuelle Blais had two goals and an assist to lead Minnesota-Duluth past Minnesota 3-1 in Friday’s second semifinal, setting up a game with Cornell for the NCAA women’s hockey championship.
Laura Fridfinnson added a goal and two assists for the Bulldogs, who advanced to Sunday’s championship game for a record sixth time. Looking to build on its record four national titles, Minnesota-Duluth (30-8-2) will face a Cornell team that is 21-8-6) and which beat Mercyhurst 3-2 in overtime in the first semifinal.
Bulldogs goaltender Jennifer Harss finished with 27 saves.
Sarah Erickson and Emily West scored for Minnesota (26-9-5). Noora Raty made 21 saves for the Gophers.
