Bartoli beats Kuznetsova at Key Biscayne

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. — Top-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova has lost to Marion Bartoli 6-3, 6-0 in the fourth round at the Sony Ericsson Open.

Kuznetsova, the 2006 champion, required treatment from a trainer for an arm or shoulder injury during the match Monday and won only eight points in the second set.

The upset was nothing new for the No. 13-seeded Bartoli, who has won seven of her past 11 matches against top-five players. She advanced to the quarterfinals at Key Biscayne for only the second time. She also reached the final eight as a qualifier in 2003.

The start was delayed four hours by rain.
