Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has beaten master blaster Sachin Tendulakar in matter of income, thus becoming the highest earning cricketer in the world, according to media reports.

A report published in a local vernacular daily said Dhoni’s annual income has now touched around Rs 44 crore which is Rs eight crore more than Rs 36 crore earned by Sachin.

The report was today published in Hindustan, a Hindi daily published from Dhoni’s home town of Ranchi, earlier part of Bihar before it was bifurcated in 2000.

Report says Rs 8.80 crore of Dhoni’s total income comes from cricket matches whereas the rest Rs 36 crore comes from ads he gives for prominent companies like Pepsico, Coke, Rebok, Aircel, Max Mobile, TVS Motors and Titan.

Left hander Yuvraj Singh remains third with his annual income of about Rs 24 crore.

The report says Rahul Dravid remains on the fourth slot (annual income Rs 22 crore), while Andrew Flintoff on the fifth (annual income Rs 17.6 crore).
