DALLAS, TEXAS (GaeaTimes.com)- The Texas Stadium implosion took place yesterday in the city of Dallas. Popularly known as the “stadium with the hole in the roof,” the Texas Stadium was imploded with one ton of dynamite. All that remains in its place is a huge heap of rubble. Mayor Herbert Gears of Irving, has said that the demolished site will now be home to cranes, bulldozers and other construction equipments which will be required for building the proposed future residential and commercial establishment to take the place of the Texas Stadium.

More than twenty thousand people including fans, cheerleaders and teammates of Dallas Cowboys were present at the site of Texas Stadium where the implosion took place. Dallas Cowboys had played for a period of 38 years in the same stadium. Players recalled wonderful moments of their career in the Texas Stadium as it was being razed to the ground in front of their eyes in less than 30 seconds.

Pete Nolasco, a native of Irving, brought an ice sculpture weighing 100 pounds to Texas Stadium as his tribute to his favorite stadium of which he has some fond memories. Two others, named Chris Arnold and Christie Perry had tears in their eyes at the time of demolition but were also hopeful about the future.

Mayor Herbert Gears said that since the site of the stadium was a prime location for Texas and he would put in his best efforts to reconstruct a building which would not only be beneficial for the people but also for the country’s economy as a whole. The train station area where the Texas Stadium implosion took place will make place for a residential project. However the construction may take a minimum of 5 to 6 years, said the Mayor.
