Top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki advances, Jelena Jankovic upset in Charleston

Wozniacki reaches semifinals in Charleston
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki advanced to the semifinals of the Family Circle Cup with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Nadia Petrova.
Earlier Friday, the tournament’s second seed was eliminated when Daniela Hantuchova upset Jelena Jankovic 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.
In Saturday’s semifinal, she will meet the winner of the match between Vera Zvonareva and Melanie Oudin of the United States. Wozniacki, ranked No. 2, won last week at Ponte Verde Beach in Florida.
Hantuchova plays the winner of the match between Peng Shuai of China and fourth-seeded Samantha Stosur of Australia.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Daniela Hantuchova ousted second-seeded Jelena Jankovic 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 Friday in the quarterfinals of the Family Circle Cup.
The eighth-seeded Hantuchova had lost three of her four previous meetings against Jankovic, who is ranked No. 7 in the world.
Hantuchova will play the winner of the match between Peng Shuai of China and fourth-seeded Samantha Stosur of Australia.
Later Friday, top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki will play Nadia Petrova, and Vera Zvonareva will face Melanie Oudin of the United States.
