Saul Alvarez Remains Undefeated

LAS VEGAS (GaeaTimes.com)- The 19-year-old Saul Alvarez, though he had a tough time on the boxing ring on Saturday against Jose Miguel Cotto, ultimately came out of it as the winner to make Oscar De La Hoya, the President of the Golden Boy Promotion proud of his decision.
At the beginning of the game Saul Alvarez got a tough fight from Jose Miguel Cotto. In the very first round and just few minutes into the game it seemed that Saul Alvarez will be defeated badly by Jose Miguel Cotto. The latter went for a left hook that rocked Saul Alvarez who fell on the ropes. Jose Miguel Cotto’s blow did not end up there as he followed it up with several other shots which included a right hand shot. In the second round it was the turn of Saul Alvarez to show some real play as he went for a knockdown over Jose Miguel Cotto with a right hand. However, Jose Miguel Cotto managed well.
In the rest of the game Saul Alvarez continued to dominate. He put some good and heavy punches on his opponent and also went for some right hand. In the ninth round Saul Alvarez went for some aggressive head blows on Jose Miguel Cotto. It seemed that the latter was falling short of energy in front of the rapid head blows of Saul Alvarez. Referee Tony Weeks stopped the game nine minutes before the end of round nine.
Saul Alvarez said that he enjoyed fighting in Las Vegas and that would love to come back soon to fight again. About the win he said to media sources that though it was hard at the beginning, as the rounds proceeded he gained confidence.
