CARSON, CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Mauricio Shogun Rua was declared the undisputed winner of the heavyweight title at the Ultimate Fighters Championship, and his performance in the ring was good enough to ensure that there would be no contention this time regarding his victory of the title, repeating the unfortunate incident of the UFC 104. In fact, this time, there could not have been any problem regarding the decision of his win, considering that he delivered a great performance. Moreover, by the end of the match, his opponent Lyoto Machida was left with a closed eye, leaving no room for any dispute. In fact, it seemed that the fight would turn into something brutal, had the referee, Yves Lavigne not stopped the fight at the right time.
Mauricio Shogun Rua concentrated on his kicks, which seemed to be pretty strong, with the last one aimed at his opponent brought him down well and good, bringing the fight to an end. On the other hand, Lyoto Machida too performed pretty well, delivering some really hard punches and taking down his opponent at times. However, his skill could not keep him standing for long against his opponent, and it was not before long that Mauricio Shogun Rua landed a grazing right and took him down, after that landing a punch from the top.
It was this punch from Mauricio Shogun Rua that actually helped in ending the fight, and secured the title of the heavyweight champion in the Ultimate Fighters Championship for the fighter. It was definitely a huge victory for the fighter, especially considering that it was this very title that had led to considerable controversy in the UFC 104.
