Rikishi: The WWE superstar

Los Angeles (GaeaTimes.com) The WWE Superstar Rikishi’s birth name is Solofa F. Fatu Jr. but most people know him by his ring name Rikishi. He is famous for his work at the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment. Rikishi was born in 1965 and is a member of the extensive Samoan Anoa’i wrestling family. He was trained in 1980 by his uncle Wild Samoans, Afa and Sika. Fatu teamed with his cousin Samu, son of Afa. They were known as The Samoan Swat Team. They mainly wrestled in the south. The won titles in the Dallas based World Class Wrestling Association. They later worked for the World Wrestling Federation under the name Headshrinker till Rikishi went on to make his singles career. He is the brother of Eddie Umaga Fatu who was also known as the Tonga Kid. In an interview with Jason Clevett, Rikishi said about the unfortunate passing of his brother last year.

It’s a great loss, not just for our personal lives, but also for professional wrestling as well, as the fans … You never expect to get a call like that. I’m having goosebumps right here sitting talking to you about it. My dealing with my brother’s loss was through the fans and the family. You would not believe how much heart, calls and emails, condolences from fans throughout the whole world. I was very proud of that.

Rikishi’s sons, the Uso twins has made their debut at RAW attacking the Hart Dynasty. Rikishi said about his sons,

You guys look out for them! They’re in a developmental deal now. What I told my boys was, ‘You guys have a lot of shoes to fill, but do what you feel comfortable with. Win the fans, win the match.’ They’re seeing why daddy walks through the door limping, don’t want to throw the football, don’t want to play basketball. But they’re going to find out first-hand.
