LAHORE - Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi believes that it would be difficult for injury prone fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar to adjust to the demands of international cricket, as he has not played enough matches in the recent past, but he is likely to feature in the upcoming one-day and T20 matches.

Talking to reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium here, Afridi said the team management is planning to use Akhtar, who is probably in his last leg of his international career, only in one-day and T20 matches instead of Test cricket.

The 34-year old controversial fast bowler has been included in the list of 35-probables for the upcoming Asia Cup and the subsequent England tour and is likely to make it to the final squad for the quadrangular one-day tournament which would be played in Sri Lanka from June 15-24.

Afridi said that though Akhtar has performed well in domestic cricket, he would have to be utilised with ‘care.’

Commenting on the statement that he made against former captain Shoaib Malik during the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) inquiry commission’s hearing, Afridi said it was now a part of the past. (ANI)
