World Cup Anger Management For Wayne Rooney

RUSTENBERG, SOUTH AFRICA, (GaeaTimes.com)- Referee Jeff Selogilwe have issued Wayne Rooney a severe warning to keep control on his anger during the World Cup matches. The referee also made it clear that if Wayne Rooney uses abusive words against the referee in the World Cup matches then he shall be asked to leave the ground as well as the tournament. As a matter of fact, Wayne Rooney had already witnessed a similar situation in the last World Cup when he was issued a red card and was sent back home.
England played their last warm up match for World Cup 2010 against Platinum Stars on Monday where they defeated the local club by a margin of 3-0. Wayne Rooney got himself into an argument with the referee where he had hurled a couple of abusive words at him. Following that the referee issued a warning for Wayne Rooney. However, at the end of the match Wayne Rooney apologized for his behavior to the referee. The referee on the other hand told the media that he regards Wayne Rooney to be one of the best players in the World Cup but he also added that if he can keep off his anger while he is on the ground then it will be good for him.
Not only the referee but also Jermain Defoe who happens to be a fellow player said that he believes that Wayne Rooney has tremendous potential in the World Cup which could drive England towards victory. The only thing which worries him is Wayne Rooney’s anger which he thinks is a negative thing in the World Cup for the player as well as the team.
