CHICAGO (GaeaTimes.com)- The Chicago Blackhawks will celebrate their Stanley Cup victory in style with a parade on June 11. This is the 1st victory for the Chicago Blackhawks in 49 years. The fans are eagerly waiting for the parade to greet their city’s heroes. The parade is supposed to begin at 10:30 am this Friday.
As fans mark the date on their calendars, the security authorities of the city have also begun the necessary preparations. The Municipal Office of Emergency Management and Communication of Chicago will be monitoring the proceedings right from the start. The body was skeptical but the city’s public and the team have managed to dismiss their objections and will be celebrating the Stanley Cup win in full force. Thousands of fans partied on the street after the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in the overtime of the 6th game, but no complaints of noise or disturbance has been reported by the Chicago Police.
The most extraordinary comment after the win came from Charles Horn who is a die hard fan of the team, saying that the win was like a girlfriend who broke up years ago and has suddenly come back to want him again. A lot of fans though have criticized the planning of the parade because the city will also host the Crosstown Classic event at 1:20 on the same day. Fans will have to choose between their favorites sports. Since the north/south clash at the Wrigley Field is also expecting at least 42000+ fans, the Chicago Blackhawks team might just be turning away the fans who will choose to watch the baseball game instead.
