France, Uruguay 0-0 late in World Cup match
CAPE TOWN, South Africa — France and Uruguay were scoreless through 75 minutes of their opening World Cup match, with the French failing to make the most of their domination in possession.
Diego Forlan missed the best chance of the second half, firing wide from 15 yards after Luis Suarez set him up well.
France wasted by far the best opportunity in the seventh minute, with Sidney Govou side-footing wide from 4 yards with goalkeeper Fernando Muslera out of position.
Yoann Gourcuff also came close for France with a curling free kick from wide on the left flank that was saved by Muslera.
