Blackhawks Parade Held

CHICAGO (GaeaTimes.com)- The Chicago Blackhawks players turned into virtual superheroes when the team as well as members of the organization cruised past a sea of people during the parade held on Friday to celebrate the team’s win at the Stanley Cup against the Philadelphia Flyers. Large number of fans lined the streets of the city yesterday as the Chicago Blackhawks players rode passed their enthusiastic supporters in open air buses along Washington Street and Michigan Avenue.
It has been reported that a whopping two million enthusiastic supporters took part in the event on Friday who cheered the players all along the parade route and the subsequent rally that followed later. As the rally was about to commence, Rocky Wirtz, the owner of the Chicago Blackhawks team told the enthusiastic crowd from the podium that the Stanley Cup has finally reached its home and it has ultimately reached the place where the city wants it to stay. At the same time, while talking about the warm reception that the team had received from the residents of the city, player Patrick Kane told news sources that this was probably the best experience that he has been through ever.
Apart from Patrick Kane, during the parade the crowds also welcomed captain Jonathan Toews with a loud ovation and cheers as he carried the Stanley Cup over his head so that the supporters can have a closer look at it. The National Hockey League title was the first title for the Chicago Blackhawks since the year 1961 while it was the fourth overall NHL victory for the team.
