VACOUVER, CANADA (GaeaTimes.com)- Perhaps a stay on the ring for seven more seconds would have yielded a different result for Rory MacDonald who was defeated by Carlos Condit on Saturday night’s UFC 115 in Vancouver. The referee for the game, Kevin Dornan went for the stoppage at 4:53 minutes into the final round of the game after Carlos Condit started hammering Rory MacDonald hard and compelled the latter to drop his head to the ground.

There was no doubt about the fact that Rory MacDonald faced one of his toughest opponents in Carlos Condit on Saturday night as the former had mentioned earlier. The game that was played in front of more than 20,000 audiences was one of the most interesting of the UFC 115 bouts. 20-year-old Rory MacDonald put forward a brave front in front of veteran Carlos Condit. In the first two rounds Rory MacDonald had some take downs over Carlos Condit and also delivered some good punches.

However, into the third round things changed and the fight went in favor of Carlos Condit who was able to open a cut near the right eye of Rory MacDonald with his overhand right. Just 30 seconds left for the game things changed as Rory MacDonald fell to the ground and provided Carlos Condit with an opportunity for top control. The latter then landed a fatal elbow shot on the side of the right eye of the player which led to instant swelling. Though Rory MacDonald tried hard to get up, the referee called it off finding the poor condition of Rory MacDonald. While many viewers were not satisfied with the stoppage, Rory MacDonald reportedly said to media sources that it was a just stoppage called by the Kevin Dornan as he was being kicked hard by Carlos Condit.
