NZealand-Slovakia at 0-0 after 30 minutes
RUSTENBURG, South Africa — New Zealand and Slovakia have created few chances in their World Cup match and are tied 0-0 after 30 minutes Tuesday.
New Zealand’s best chance came in the fifth minute when Simon Elliott’s free kick from the left found the head of Chris Killen. But his attempt went directly to Slovakia goalkeeper Jan Mucha, who dropped the ball before quickly gathering it.
Slovakia came closest in the 27th minute when Stanislav Sestak shot narrowly wide after a good combination with Vladimir Weiss.
In cold and windy conditions, New Zealand looked comfortable in possession, belying its status as rank outsiders for this World Cup.
