Grandma’s Marathon 2010 Results

New York (GaeaTimes.com) - June 18, Friday was a very joyful day for the people of Duluth in Minnesota to enjoy the Grandma’s Marathon 2010. Many countries participate in this race. About 7,400 entries are registered for the race across the world including South Korea, Pakistan, Switzerland, Ireland, Kenya, Qatar, etc. One lady from Kenya named Philemon Kemboi won the race in 2 hours 15 minutes 44 seconds. Ethiopia’s Deba Buzenush, a twenty-two year old lady was the fastest woman in the 26.2 miles long 34th Grandma’s marathon. Buzenush Deba, finished it within 2 hours 31 minutes 35 seconds.
The Marsh Nelson Media award for the race went to Dave Jensch. The Marsh Nelson Media Award is handed out to a media representative each year who has demonstrated commitment to covering the big race. The award is named after the former sports director at KDLHTV, the late Marsh Nelson, who was particularly passionate about the marathon. Dave Jensch was the station manager and vice president at the Northlands NewsCenter. It was about thirty years Jensch is involved in the Grandma’s Marathon. According to a spokesman she has a great contribution for the development and advancement of the race.
If you’ve ever tried to put together a television broadcast of an event that’s mobile for 26.2 miles, it’s a huge undertaking. Dave was one of the pioneers that helped us put grandma’s marathons on the map as far as being one of the first to have live coverage of an event like this,
