Spain and Honduras 0-0 after 15 minutes
JOHANNESBURG — Spain has piled on pressure in the first 15 minutes of its Group H match Monday against Honduras.
David Villa hit the crossbar in the seventh minute with a long-distance shot. Moments earlier, attacking partner Fernando Torres tried to volley a low cross but was off-balance and didn’t connect well.
Sergio Ramos headed high over the crossbar on Joan Capdevila’s cross in the 10th minute.
Honduras was pushed back deep into its own half and struggled to cross the halfway line.
Both teams lost their opening matches. Desperate for a win, Spain boosted its attack by fielding Torres next to Villa.
