ICoast leads NKorea 2-0 after 75 minutes
NELSPRUIT, South Africa — Ivory Coast has a 2-0 lead after 75 minutes of its Group G match against North Korea at the World Cup, but it needs a lot more to advance.
Yaya Toure and Koffi Romaric N’Dri each scored first-half goals for the Elephants.
Didier Drogba beat goalkeeper Ri Myong Guk to Arthur Boka’s cross but glanced his 62nd-minute header wide of the post, and Ri then blocked substitute Salomon Kalou’s effort in the 71st.
Ivory Coast started the day needing to win and make up a nine-goal difference with Portugal to have a chance of advancing to the round of 16.
