NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- The much anticipated 2010 NBA Drafts held a few surprises for the NBA fans. The Overall No.1 pick John Wall went to the Washington Wizards who looked towards building a young side. At the same time, the Wizards also traded in 29 year old Kirk Hinrich. Their other picks included Kevin Seraphin and Trevor Booker. Philadelphia 76ers on the other hand made the best of their lottery results and got the No.2 overall pick, Evan Turner.
After being picked in the NBA Drafts 2010, John Wall said later that he will prove to the team what he is capable of. He called himself a leader who is not afraid to speak up against the older guys in the team. He said that he had tears in his eyes after being selected but felt that there was no real pressure on him playing at the professional level. The 6′4″, 88 kg John Wall, who earlier played for Kentucky, said that he always had pressure on him since he was the number one in school. He added that he was always hungry on court and would fight hard in every game.
The Philadelphia 76ers picked Evan Turner in their No.2 pick for the NBA Drafts. Evan Turner will come into the side which is in a rebuilding phase after their last season tally of 27-55. The 21 year old Ohio State junior guard had previously won the James Naismith Award for the most outstanding college basketball player. He was, however, out of action for 5 weeks due to broken bones in the back. Turner averages 20.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists and was also responsible for the Buckeyes qualification in the top 16 at the NCAA tournament.
