South Korea levels Uruguay at 1-1 after 75 minutes
PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa — Lee Chung-yong’s goal tied South Korea’s second-round World Cup match with Uruguay 1-1 after 75 minutes.
Lee headed into an unguarded net in the 68th after goalkeeper Fernando Muslera left his line attempting to punch away a looping loose ball. Muslera made amends in the 71st by saving Lee’s shot.
Uruguay took the lead in the eighth minute when Suarez one-timed a shot from a tight angle following Diego Forlan’s cross from the left flank.
South Korea has dominated the second half in swirling wind and rain.
The winner plays a quarterfinal against the United States or Ghana.
