ANAHEIM (GaeaTimes.com)- Bengie Molina, the catcher of the San Francisco Giants has been traded to the Texas Rangers by his team on Wednesday night in a deal which sends right-handed reliever Chris Ray as well as a player who would be named later, to the San Francisco Giants. It has also been reported that the Giants would be sending a whopping $2 million to the Texas Rangers to compensate for the difference in salary between Bengie Molina and the former Rangers receiver. However, the trade is yet to be sanctioned by the office of the commissioner, reports have stated.

The news that the 35 year old catcher has been traded to the Texas Rangers was reportedly revealed to the player by Giants manager Bruce Bochy last night after the team’s flight landed in Denver. While talking about the trade, Bengie Molina revealed to the media that he has not been informed as yet whether the decision is official as the necessary approval from the commissioner is still pending. Meanwhile, the news of Bengie Molina’s inclusion in the team is yet to be confirmed by Jon Daniels, who is the general manager of the Texas Rangers who told news sources that some talks have been going on to make an acquisition but refused to divulge any details about the players.

Meanwhile, one of the main reason which resulted in Bengie Molina being traded to the Rangers was his slipping percentage which went down by 100 per cent over the last season as well as the team’s efforts to get their 2008 No. 1 draft pick Buster Posey more time behind the plate.
