ATLANTA (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems that Damon Evans is really sorry for his late Wednesday night actions as the Athletic director apologized not only in a press conference on Thursday but also called up the president of University of Georgia Michael Adams to apologize for the shame he had brought to the university with his action. Damon Evans called a press conference on Thursday at the Athens campus and said that he has hurt the feelings of everybody. However his female friend Courtney Fuhrmann who was with him in 2009 BMW that night has declined to comment on the arrest and the whole issue.

Damon Evans and Courtney Fuhrmann were arrested by the Atlanta police on late Wednesday night when their car was seen crossing lanes. The Atlanta police stopped the car and ordered Damon Evans to take the field sobriety test. Although he initially denied undergoing the test he later did take the test and failed miserably. While he was arrested for Drinking Under Influence (DUI) and for violating road rules, his companion was arrested by the police after she disobeyed their commands and tried to come out of the car while Damon Evans was being pulled out of the car.

On Thursday Damon Evans apologized and said that his personal actions and behavior in no way reflect the values that are taught to the student athletes of the University. The President of University of Georgia, Michael Adams said that he is extremely disappointed by the actions of Damon Evans adding that this is not the kind of leadership example that he wants his senior administrators to set for the University students.
