Netherlands leads Uruguay 3-1 after 75 minutes
CAPE TOWN, South Africa — Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben scored second-half goals to give the Netherlands a 3-1 lead over Uruguay after 75 minutes of their World Cup semifinal match Tuesday.
Sneijder’s fifth World Cup goal came in the 70th minute after his shot deflected slightly off Maximiliano Pereira. Robben headed in a Dirk Kuyt cross three minutes later.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst gave the Dutch the lead in the 18th minute with a 30-yard shot into the top corner.
But Uruguay captain Diego Forlan tied the score in the 41st minute with a shot from 25 yards.
The winner meets either Germany or Spain in Sunday’s final.
