New York (GaeaTimes.com) The British Open 2010 has started and the golf players are ready to face each other at the Saint Andrews in Scotland. There was mist and occasional drizzle. The relentless wind and frigid rain made it a miserable place for the golfers on the Wednesday. The conditions improved tremendously today and the first wave of players finished. The British Open 2010 leaderboard has some unusual scores thought the names are familiar.
Rory Mcllory, one of the touted future stars, has a leading pace. He should be getting his breakthrough if he can continue with the pace he set today. Mcllory has the lowest score in a major round tied at 63 points for the record. He has a three shot lead over the other three hot starters.
John Daly is perhaps the most surprising name on the British Open 2010 leaderboard. Apart from Tiger Woods, John Daly was the last player to win an open at the Saint Andrews. Today he was -7 through 11 holes. He could have done better without the few late near misses. He shot 66.
Louis Oosthuizen shot a 65. John Daly is at -6 with Andrew Coltart and Peter Hanson. Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood, Lucas Glover, Y.E. Yang and Sean O’Hair are in -5. AT present condition of the British Open 2010 Leaderboard, a -1 or a -2 can put someone in the danger of missing the cut. Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Tom Watson are in the borderline at +1.
The leads in the game started early in the day with rare clear skies. Scattered rains and clouds at the end of the day has put the remaining players at a disadvantageous position.
