RANCHO MIRAGE (GaeaTimes.com)- There was a great treat for the boxing fans as Timothy Bradley took on the so far undefeated Luis Carlos Abregu by a unanimous decision of the judges. The scorecard read 118-110, 116-112 and 117-111. The WBO welterweight champion ended the winning streak of the Argentine with his intelligence and quick punches.
After the fight Timothy Bradley said that he felt he had defeated one of the best in the welterweight division. He also called himself an old-school fighter and said that he is ready to take on anybody. He also took the opportunity of the win to call out Manny Pacquiao and the two best 140 pound champion Devon Alexander. He also added that the punches of Luis Carlos Abregu was harder than what he was used to in the 140 pound division. He now moves on to the 147 pound division.
In the very first round the Argentinian asserted himself with a punch that caused a cut to open up above the right eye of Timothy Bradley. Timothy Bradley made up for the bloodshed very quickly in the second round with an unblocked punch that shook up Luis Carlos Abregu. Luis Carlos Abregu took time to recover from the brutal strike. The fighters continued to exchange punches in the middle rounds and a hit from Timothy Bradley saw a wound open and bleed above the eye of Luis Carlos Abregu. He looked in some pain but continued to fight with a discipline that was unforeseen. The fight went on till the last minute of the 12th round. Luis Carlos Abregu found the score unfair and said that he will immediately look for a rematch.
