NOTTINGHAM - Pakistan coach Waqar Younis is concerned about the use of Dukes cricket balls in the series, saying it swings too much.
Waqar said that Pakistan batsmen struggled because the Dukes ball being used in England swing a lot.
“Our batsmen are not used to playing with Dukes. In Pakistan, we use Kookaburra or Gray-Nicolls, both of which have a less tendency to move,” The News quoted him, as saying.
Waqar, however, hoped that Pakistan’s batsmen would adjust to the conditions soon.
“Now when the boys are practicing hard, hopefully things will improve and you will see a better change in the team’s strategy,” he said.
Waqar said that Pakistan’s bowlers were equally troubling for the England batsmen.
“Morgan, Collingwood and Prior scored runs when conditions were a lot better. Pakistan did manage to keep England’s top-order under check,” he said. (ANI)
